Weekend Windup Apr 5 In Byron Bay Today

Back to Apr 3 In byron bay Today Go to Apr 6 In Byron Bay Today

It’s been a wild old week of storms, torrential rain and big swells for us to shoot here . As we went through this weeks archive, we noticed a definite theme appearing. We’ve decided to not just bring you the shots of the good stuff but also a dose of the moments some would prefer to forget. It’s all been going on this week. There have been head high barrels at breaks that rarely get bigger than two foot. Double sucking sections on breaks normally too soft for anything other than a logger, and many other weird and wet moments. I even found myself holding a camera high over my head, as I sunk neck deep while crossing the flow near the lookout, and I’m over 2m’s tall. There were more sets coming and I had to climb the rocks out of the water at speed while trying to save the camera gear. The water’s normally about 3-6 inches deep there not 3-6 feet. Geez the things we do to bring you our shoots. It’s a good thing we love what we do, or some folks may think we’re all a bit nuts here .
