Huey turned it on In Byron Bay Today, and all we can say is ‘Good God Man Do It Again’. What a stunner it was. Ok maybe it wasn’t the best surf we’ve ever seen. But after the weather we’ve had, let me tell you, there were a lot of seriously happy people hitting the water in the bay today. The sun was out the sky was blue; the water even cleared just a little. Well sort of, a bit, OK so it’s still bronze. But at least it doesn’t resemble a short black espresso anymore, which is kind of nice. Then you can also add to the fact that we’ve still got some waves. Granted if you tried to surf it on anything other than a log or at least a very floaty fish you’d have been struggling. As the new winter banks are starting to set up meaning deep holes off the point, and long soft logger lines through the inside. Beautiful if you’re equipped for it, but not so hot if you’re not. Those that didn’t bring a log struggled. Yet don’t despair as there are some nice uncrowded punchy banks setting up not that far away. So go for a stroll and you may just stumble upon one, In Byron Bay Today.
