There was a hint of coming winter as a morning southwester came up, In Byron Bay Today. The type of wind the locals all know creates ski moguls in the bay. Yet town itself was gorgeous. Therefs a coincidence of convenience in weather like this. The spots that shelter us from this wind face directly into the path of the retreating autumn sun. If you look around carefully for a spot in the lee of a dune, or find the right cafe, itfs like stumbling into little hidden pockets of summer within the bay. It can actually be both surreal and beautiful at once when Byron gets like this. Meanwhile back at the beach the crew in the car park were full of conjecture and opinion on when the wind will swing. Just when most were about to let it go and head back home, it swung around dropped in intensity and went gently offshore. The afternoon session quickly developed into classic autumn Byron producing sweet sunny logger lines in the bay. So surf it we did, before pulling out the gear to capture the afternoon crew as they slid through orange and gold plumes of the waves. All sounds a bit flowery doesnft it, well thatfs just the way it was. And so the sun dropped into the shadows of the western hinterlands In Byron Bay Today.
To all those fabulous folks who chose to pose, wefd just like to say. Thank you all for being here with us In Byron Bay Today.
