Hmm it seems Huey left the replay button on, . It’s just been getting windier here by the minute. The bay is completely blown out, there’s salt spray over everything and small children intermittently sailing by on the prevailing northerly breeze. Many years ago we used to call these ‘Black Northerlies’. I never quite figured out whether it was because of the steady cloud build up. The colour the water goes in the bay, from a mixture of nutrient rich upwellings and the reflection of the grey sky. Or if it was just that some folks seem to get in a bit of a dark mood after several days of being blasted by the wind. Whatever it is the Black Northerly is no stranger to Byron bay, but like all weather patterns they come and go. As far as the maps are looking, we should see an end come to this one in the next twenty four to forty eight hours. As far as the surf is concerned it’s reasonably big, lumpy twisty and not real good for anything other than bodyboards and the little whiteboard set. The little blokes were making a good go of it in Byron today, so this update is dedicated to them. They’re so surf stoked they’ll have a dig at anything and still enjoy it. So here’s to the positive energy of the grommets. Because they still got amongst it and made it look fun, . To all those fabulous folks who chose to pose, thank you, for being here with us .
