As the Christmas crowds fade away, we’ve noticed many more residents have left their bunkers and resurfaced In Byron Bay Today. It’s a Byron thing, when the crowd reaches a certain intensity a percentage of local crew seem to simply disappear. Only to suddenly reappear weeks later, with big smiles and tall tales of uncrowded waves in some fabled playground elsewhere. Of course it’s all part of the game, if it was really that good, they wouldn’t feel the need to come back. Byron’s like that. It can drive you nuts occasionally. But once you’ve left, you quickly realise you can’t wait to get back. So it was good to see Captain Happy, Retro, Bruiser and Dapper Dave to name but a few, out and about. Sadly this also means it’s time to say goodbye to new found friends as they head back home.
