And so , we say farewell, bon voyage and goodbye to the families and school kids. Except for a few private schools it’s all done and dusted. The holidays are over and town is much quieter once again. The much anticipated increase in swell is yet to reveal itself. It actually got smaller overnight, leaving many crew looking stunned and twiddling their thumbs. But what a glorious day to twiddle it was. To me this is classic north coast summer weather. The sun is turning you into a lobster one minute, and then it can be pissing down rain the next. Ten minutes later the suns blazing again and the humidity’s through the roof. It’s that real sub tropical stuff, and although many of us complain, there is a real beauty in it. The clouds are dramatic, the waters stunning and the beaches are repeatedly swept clean of footprints by the rain storms. It’s good to get wet both in and out of the surf. It’s a good time for walking and reflecting as the season progresses. It’s a great time to be .
