The northerly was up . We headed through town taking care to dodge the Byron TumbleWeeds, a strange phenomenon unique to Byron Bay. The north wind creates an electrostatic charge in the dreadlocks of backpacking hippies, causing them to clump together in large groups. Usually near the main beach car park. As the Northerly increases, these great rolling balls of poor innocent hippies begin to roll down Jonson Street. Hence that name, Byron Bay Tumble Weeds. Ok enough silliness suffices to say, it was blowing a gale in the bay today and the beach was not a popular choice for some. Many preferred to wait it out in a cafe somewhere, watching the smaller folk go sailing past on the breeze. Be that as it may, there were still a few tiny little waves to be had, for those who took time to look. If you knew where, and were willing to do the walk, then you got a few little slides for your efforts. So we made the effort too, and lugged our gear up the beach to shoot those who braved the wind .
To all those windswept and interesting people who struck a pose for us today. We’d just like to say. Thank you, for being .
