Mar 16 09 In Byron Bay Today

Well the cyclone swell is all gone and things got back to normal In Byron Bay Today. That is, fun family friendly lumpy bumpy little longboard waves. But hey that’s ok, going the log session is a heap of fun anyway. The sun came out and thankfully the wind held off until about lunchtime. Those who did bother to pull a log out and get wet had plenty of fun, which is what it’s all about. It was a real family scene in the bay today, which always gives it a nice energy. It’s so cool watching the little ones with their folks. They’re just so stoked to be wet; their enjoyment of the surf hasn’t been tainted by the commercial juggernaut of modern surfing. They just want to show off for mum and dad, and enjoy the moment. Perhaps we could all learn a little something from that, who knows. By midafternoon a storm moved through from the south west and after a few rumbles and bangs soaked everything in sight, sending most folks running for cover. All in all it was a pretty stunning day, with some fun little slides, plenty of smiles and many who were quite simply grateful to be In Byron Bay Today.
