May 3 09 In Byron Bay Today

And so we once again saw another successful Winter Whales Ocean swim In Byron Bay Today. Do you think they could have put in an order for nicer weather? I mean really, it was gorgeous and water had completely cleared since the April rains. So once again the swimmers were spoilt with a crystal clear passage through the bay. The sun stayed out until all the presentations were done and dusted. Then a little southerly rumble storm and shower just to let us know it was all over. All in all it was beautiful day. For the Logger Crew there were a few nice little lines in the bay to slide for those that didn’t enter the swim. But the Little Whiteboard Set had to look elsewhere as there just wasn’t enough power for them in the bay today. The waves at the moment are pretty much logger waves only, it’s just the way the banks are currently formed. No doubt it will pass. But hey being the proud owner of several logs myself, you won’t hear me complaining. Town was packed to the gills today you wouldn’t want to be in a hurry to get from one end to the other. Between the Ocean Swim, The Byron Markets and The Queensland Labour Day long weekend, it was pretty much standing room only. But that’s ok it’s not like that everyday and everyone appeared to be behaving themselves, as well as having a really good time, In Byron Bay Today.
