Weekend Windup May 8 In Byron Bay Today

Welcome to the In Byron Bay Today Weekend Windup. It’s been quite an exciting week for us up here in the bay; it’s all been going on. Last Sunday saw the Winter Whales Ocean Swim; Friday was the first day of the Byron Bay Malibu Classic and Saturday see’s the Annual Byron Bay Triathlon. Speaking of the Triathlon, if you’re coming into town tomorrow, you’d be wise to get in before 12 Noon and plan to stay until after 5pm. If you do happen to find yourself sitting in traffic try to remember that this event raises funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a very worthy cause. Those sweaty folks zipping round and around are helping to support the people many of us know and love that have been touched by that insidious disease. So if you get caught up for a few minutes cut them some slack. Be grateful that people organise events which raise funds for charity; anyway it’s only for one day. As for the surf; it’s been small folks, but there are a few little wedgy peaks around if you make an effort to go look for them. Word has it we may see some more swell soon. But either way who could complain, if you’re lucky enough to find yourself, In Byron Bay Today.
