We were graced with a few dry hours between showers , which was lucky break. All the current weather indicators point towards a pretty wild wet and woolly old time in Byron bay this week. But today was ok and the sun almost broke through at times. There were a few slightly larger bumpy waves on offer for a slide or two. But by late afternoon the wind and rain were steadily increasing making coffee and cake in a nice cafe seem like the best move for the day. Now every now and again circumstance or social responsibility dictates we head down a more serious path. So here we go. Whether you live here or are coming for a visit in the next few days. It may be prudent to exercise a little caution on the roads and in the bay. At 6.50pm tonight the Bureau of Meteorology issued a Top Priority Severe Weather Warning for the entire Northern Rivers Region. This means possible flooding, gale to storm force winds and probable dangerous conditions. It could all just disperse and blew over, and hopefully it will. But if it intensifies, which is more likely. Then it’s time for the beginners and less experienced surfers to stay on shore and watch for a few days. Sure if you’re an old salt you know what you can handle, but if you’re not sure don’t risk it. Wait for it all to settle down. It will all be over in a few days, and once more it’ll be safe to get out and play .
To all those wonderful folks who chose to pose we’d just like to say. Thank you for being here with us .
