There were some pretty tasty barrels to be had In Byron Bay Today. Finally the little white board set, got there day. It’s about time too, the crew that don’t pick up a log when it’s small, have been forced to head out of town for a few weeks now to find waves. So it was good to see them get their share in Byron bay today. The folks around town still seem a bit shell shocked by the ferocity of last week’s storm, and really who could blame them. I mean ok sure, technically it wasn’t a cyclone. But with 100+ km/ph winds, flash flooding and storm surge tides, it sure felt like one. Simple fact is people don’t come through a storm like that and just calmly state ‘Ain’t it grand the wind stopped blowin’. It takes a little while to shake it off and adjust to the refashioned landscape around us. It takes a few days to dry the damp out of our bones. The reality is everywhere we go in Byron the main topic of conversation is last week’s storm, which is exactly the way it should be. We all need to chat a little and get it out of our systems. Speaking of the storm, we popped up to the lighthouse today for a bit of a look see. It looked like Huey had gone to town on Cape Byron with God sized whipper snipper. Of course it’ll all grow back soon enough and the memory of this storm will fade. It will just become one of the many stories of life as we live it In Byron Bay Today.
To all those wonderful people who chose to pose we’d just like to say. Thank you for being here with us In Byron Bay Today.
