May 26 09 In Byron Bay Today

Well no sooner than we’d gotten used to that swell, and it was almost gone . Even the loggers were struggling a little in Byron Bay today. It’s not that the surf was flat there were waves to be had it’s just that the sand hasn’t settled down yet. The banks that were firing yesterday appeared to be gone by today. Or at least the reduced swell size simply wasn’t reaching them. The logger crew managed to score a few, but was mostly lumpy twisty weird rides for those who tried to slide. Yet bumpy is better than nothing and we had the added bonus of being blessed with a little sunshine in the bay today, and so there was much rejoicing. You could visibly see the relief in people’s eyes as the clouds parted and they felt the warmth of a late autumn sun on their faces. So those who got out and about in the bay today enjoyed themselves just the same. We all started to recover from our storm induced cabin fever thanks to the warmth of the sun; it may well be that a few rays was just what the doctor ordered .
To all those fabulous folks who chose to pose we’d just like to say. Thank you for being here with us .
