Where’d everyone go In Byron Bay Today? Yes, yes I know the school holidays finished and many folks went home, but that’s not what I’m talking about here. It was quiet in Byron today, almost too quiet. So what was going on? Well it’s simple really, there was as close to no surf as it gets. Now there are many folks that will try to tell you that there’s more to Byron Bay than surfing, and hey there is. But the rhythm of Byron Bay is most definitely linked to the waves, and that’s just the way it is. It could be cold, rainy and dark, yet if the waves are on, the town is cooking. I like to think of this way, we’re kind of plugged in to the moods of Huey here from day to day. When Huey gets excitable and turns on the waves, the town just lights up as life in Byron begins to pulse with the rhythm of the swell sweeping into the bay. But when Huey’s feeling still and reflective, then all is quiet. Just as it was, In Byron Bay Today.
