Weekend Review Sep 4 In Byron Bay Today

Back to Sep 3 In byron bay Today Go to Sep 6 In Byron Bay Today

Welcome to .Well another interesting week just gone by in Byron Bay. We’ve had a group of kayakers rescued off Cape Byron; there have been whales all over the place and a few sharks as well. The weather has really kicked into spring mode right on cue and the winds been changing directions more often than I change my mind, which is plenty, just ask Yoko. But I digress. It all adds up to one thing; spring has well and truly arrived in Byron Bay. The Kayakers needed rescuing due to gale force winds. The sharks are here because of the whales migrating back down south with their newborn calves, and the radically changing weather are all tell tale signs of spring in Byron Bay. So strap yourselves in folks, it could be a bit of a bumpy ride, because around this neck of woods spring means anything goes. It’s the time of year, when weather forecasters scratch their heads and say things like. ‘Sunny tomorrow with scattered rain periods, light to moderately strong winds with possible thunderstorms and hail’. You get the picture, so we’ll just turn up as usual and see what this spring brings. Now speaking of bumpy rides, we thought we’d bring you a bit of the lighter side of surfing this week and show you some of the stuff that normally gets edited out. So we’re bringing you just a few of those embarrassing moments when it doesn’t go quite right. Those moments when we quietly think to ourselves, ‘man I hope nobody saw that’. But of course, we saw it, and no surfer is immune, from absolute beginner to world class; everyone gets it wrong sometime, .
To all those wonderful people who chose to pose, thank you, for being here with us . Don’t forget to check the photos and comments carefully each day, to see if we’ve drawn your name to win a freebee .
