Weekend Review Feb 27 In Byron Bay Today

Making Huey Laugh, . It’s the end of summer and I’ve just been reflecting on, the last few weeks of this very strange season. Many close and seemingly solid friends of ours have suddenly found their lives exploding with random devastation. It’s just been the weirdest thing, long term relationships disintegrating, serious loss of income, and in some cases terminal illness. It’s all been really radical stuff, and we’ve just been sitting in amongst it and trying to avail ourselves to buddies who’re going through the proverbial wringer right now. Giving a little support to a mate that’s suffering, tends to make my stuff pale to insignificance, it makes me feel like nothing happened, like it’s all ok. Yet simple reality is this, without the help that you guys gave us it would have been the end of in Byron Bay today. We thought we had ourselves covered; we’d made plans to cover for the worst, as any sane person would. But it turned out our plans were full of loopholes and as it were, insufficient. It just goes to show, no matter how well I may think I got things sorted, it’s impossible to plan for what tomorrow may bring. My mate didn’t plan to get ill; the other friend didn’t plan that his partner would become a member of a cult and destroy their family unit. We didn’t plan to get robbed, and thought that even if we did, we had it covered. These things and much more happen to so many of us every day. Nobody plans for things to happen the way they do. Fact is I reckon Huey probably just roars with laughter at those who think they have life all mapped out before them. So here I sit trying to be available to some friends who’re going through hell right now. Trying to be a listener an observer and a mate rather than a judge and a critic as is so easy to do. I’m trying to graciously and humbly accept the help that’s been so generously given to us, so we can rebuild too. It’s got me thinking of the best laid plans of mice & men; it’s got me musing that I may actually know the secret to making the great Huey laugh. All I got to do is just tell Huey my plansJ, . So if it’s ok with you Huey, we plan to be back shooting by the end of this coming week.
