A Simple Equation, In Byron Bay Today. There were folks all over the place in Byron Bay today. Hardly surprising really, I mean it is summer. But people weren’t the only creatures getting into the bay today. You see Byron was buzzing with extra activity all day, and any old surfer worth his or her salt would have spotted the signs straight away. It’s a simple equation really and it goes something like this. Everywhere you looked there were birds at work. No hassling visitors for chips; but rather just a few metres out from shore, going nuts, making a racket and repeatedly diving into the water. They were into the dark patches of water that looked like large clumps of weed. But it ain’t seaweed, it keeps moving, and everywhere it moves the birds go too, its bait fish. Suddenly you catch a scent of fresh cut fish on the breeze as you see the bait ball suddenly split in two. That’s when you realise it’s not only birds that are onto them. Looking more carefully you start spotting dolphins, tuna and sharks. That’s what was going down in Byron bay today. So here’s a safety tip for all you folks who haven’t experienced this before. When you see birds at work, don’t swim into the dark patch to investigate the phenomenon, it’s really not a good idea. Sure have a dip, cool down, but give the dark mass in the water a very wide birth. You see birds at work, means bait fish. Bait fish in close to shore means they’re being chased by much larger predators, and that’s not something you really want to get involved with, In Byron Bay Today.
To all those fabulous folks that chose to pose, thank you, for being here with us In Byron Bay Today.
