Best Week Of Swell For Some Time, In Byron Bay Today’s Week In Review. Well folks we actually had swell of some sort everyday of the week in Byron Bay. Granted we didn’t get the serious southerly ground swell that graced our brothers and sisters further south. But we did start the week with a rideable north east wind swell. This began to fade on Monday but was quickly replaced with a small easterly swell and then the tail end of southerly ground swell. After one of the laziest summers I’ve seen for some time in the swell department, I’d have to say it was a joy to see workable waves on call nearly every day. Yeah it wasn’t huge, but it did have moments and for those that got onto it before the word got out, well for them there was much rejoicing. Speaking of which I was asked this week yet again, why I don’t say where we shoot each day, and why I don’t give forecasts on where it should be good tomorrow? This is not the first time I’ve been asked this. The answer is simple. It all comes down to a strange little belief I have which goes something like this. If I haven’t bothered to go out and look for it, then I haven’t earned it. I believe that this rings especially true for surfing, so I’m quite happy to document what we got, but I’m sticking with not calling where or when it did or will happen, In Byron Bay Today.
To all those fabulous folks that chose to pose, thank you, for being here with us In Byron Bay Today.
