Well That’s That, In Byron Bay Today. That’s it folks the summer school holidays are over for another year in Byron Bay, and wasn’t it quiet in the old town today. Before we all get used to the calm don’t forget the uni students and backpackers will probably begin to arrive en masse by this weekend. That’s pretty much been the pattern for years now, the families go home and the students arrive. We’ve also traditionally had really good waves at this time of year, which was sadly not the case today. Sure there were a few little slides for the desperados, of which I was one. But it was uncrowded, and this old salty dog will take uncrowded anytime he can get his hands on it. Even if that means when it’s small and lumpy, which is exactly what was on offer today. But really who cares, there were car spaces a plenty, the water was clear warm and empty, we had a few more sharks pay us a visit and had a close encounter with a massive Manta Ray. Then Huey topped it all off with a good sized thunderstorm and a lightening show for good measure, In Byron Bay Today.
