Tough Week For Many, . It‘s been a tough week for many of the local crew this week with the tragic and very untimely passing of young Ben Donohoe a much loved member of the Byron Bay Boardriders. Poor bloke passed in the early hours of last Sunday morning. It’s always radically sad when we lose one of the local crew, doubly so when they’re taken so young. Many hundreds turned out Friday morning to farewell Ben with a paddle out at Broken. On a lighter note the swell showed promise last weekend. Then it promptly vanished on Monday not to show itself again until Thursday afternoon. It’s just been one of those weeks when finding other things to do besides surfing was on the cards. It’s been cold, windy and predominantly flat, there were little windows of opportunity for those who looked, we found them, and so did a few others, .
