Popping, Slapping And Burning,. There was not a whole lot going down on the wave side of things, in Byron Bay today. But there was sure plenty of alternative action happening in the bay. The swell was small; the wind was a taste of the season to come, in other words northerly and strong. While the tide was a ridiculously low, low, thanks to a new moon. Yet if you hung around long enough you'd soon notice there were other things going on. The dolphins were in fine form popping out all over the place. Not to be outdone, the whales were busy with breaches and tail and pectoral fin slaps for most of the day. Then to top it all off we watched a meteorite of some sort burn up in the atmosphere above us at sunset,.
