Peak Season, . Yes folks as we are told to expect the town to swell by an extra five to ten thousand people, in Byron bay today. Many of the local crew have once again gone to ground, while wondering if we really need to further extend peak season in the bay. Here's a question for the advocates of unrestrained mass tourism in Byron Bay. When is enough, enough, when do the local community get a little down time? This was once a quiet time of year. The community got a couple of weeks break to be ready for the Christmas rush. Now it's straight into peak season. If folks don't get a little rest they eventually burn out. We're not talking about the visitors themselves. They as individuals are not the problem. They are just trying to enjoy themselves, as do any other visitors to any place at any time. But it doesn't hurt to question the numbers and the impact these numbers have on the community. We are now feeling the impact of what is fast becoming a concerted effort by some, to produce a nonstop tourism peak season, .
