Weekend Review July 13 12 In Byron Bay Today

Confused, . Ok Huey you've made ya point you da boss, now could we just get on with a little bit of normal north coast winter, in Byron Bay today. Really it's been cold and pissing down until five days ago. Now this week it's warm cloudy and howling northerlies with Blue bottles in the middle of July. So what's with that, I mean really Blue bottles? Well I got down and did some research and apparently this is not so weird for the weather pattern we are in. What's currently going on is this. The Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) are currently passing through their Neutral phases into the reverse of where they have been. The SOI is moving into negative state meaning cooler water producing El Nino with weaker dryer less volatile easterly trade winds. The IOD is moving through into a positive state. Meaning the same thing, as on the west coast it's all reversed. During this transitional phase Old Huey doesn't know whether it's Arthur or Martha, and can pretty much throw just about anything at us. So that's the deal, apparently it's not that weird after all. It's a transitional phase in the greater scheme of weather patterns. Or to put it simply Huey is a tad confused,.
