No Mystery, In Byron Bay Today’s Weekend Review. So there we have it the school holidays for Spring 2012 are coming to and end, in Byron Bay today. Many have already started to head home, and we wish you all a safe trip. There’s been a lot of noise over the last two weeks about the crowds, some in favour, some against, and some just bloody confused about why it’s been so busy. Some marketing types have tried to claim responsibility. But the reality is if you found yourself wondering why it’s been so intensely crowded this last holiday, it’s no mystery. The answer is simple. It’s not some marketing magic, or some weird spooky conspiracy. It’s just that for the first time in a very long time. QLD, VIC & NSW, all had their school holidays simultaneously, when normally they are staggered over a three to four week period. This year everyone was here on the same too weeks, rather than spread out over a longer time frame. Will this be the new norm? Who knows, that’s really in the hands of those who schedule the school terms. So if you were here for the break hope you had fun and respected the bay.
