Downright Gnarly, In Byron Bay Today. You know I could try to wind it up to sound nicer, but it would be dishonest, fact is it was just downright gnarly, in Byron Bay today. Big but not huge, the swell really wasn’t that massive. But the seas on top of the swell were, big that is. The swell is really short period 6-8 seconds and messy, the seas pushing over the top of it are just gnarly and rough. The wind vacillated between east and southeast around the 25-35kts mark all day, and just to make it extra fun there was heaps of rain. Not a pretty picture? Well it depends on how one looks at it. Sure from a surfing perspective it was just a mess. But for folks such as me, who actually enjoy standing out in the elements and letting Huey do its best. I for one found it refreshingly beautiful and conducive to feeling at peace, In Byron Bay Today.
