Broken Head Byron Bay

Made famous in the 70's by the movie 'Morning of the earth' Broken Head is the quintessential north coast point break. Broken, as it’s more affectionately known, is a small beach front community lying just south of Byron Bay. This really is soul surfer country and must be treated accordingly. The place itself is gorgeous and very peaceful. There’s little to do out here except surf, swim, and go for long beach walks and relax, which is exactly the way we like it.

The Surf at Broken Head: From a surfer’s perspective Broken is known for its Long walls, the odd tube, warm water, frolicking dolphins and hippies on single fins. All are in abundant supply here. When the banks are lined up properly this wave is so perfect it's just ridiculous. But the banks are fickle and it can just turn off for a period of time. When this happens, just go for a leisurely stroll up the beach to the north, you’re bound to stumble upon a decent bank eventually. Remember this is considered country surfing here. Bring peace and respect, not an attitude of competition.
