Grown Surfboards

Grown Surfboards is based in Lennox Head, we create individually handcrafted hollow timber surfboards, that are both beautiful and functional.

We create boards from classic 70’s style single fins and fish, through to more modern style fish and quads, as well as traditional long boards. All of our boards are made from recycled or plantation grown timber. Each handcrafted board takes over 25 hours to build and shape ready for glassing. Our boards are finished with a layer of 4oz cloth with a high gloss finish by the guys at North Coast Surfboards.

On ground timber boards are slightly heavier than your standard foam surfboards, however, being hollow they have an inherent buoyancy to them that negates this feeling of weight in the water. Timber boards are generally a lot faster in the water, and are great for making it through fatter sections while still being responsive in and out of turns. Timber boards have a nice natural flow to them that just makes you just want to keep riding them.

All boards are made from a recycled and plantation grown timber. Due to the natural variations in timber grains, every board has its own unique pattern and style. The high gloss finish really brings out the timber grains and patterns.
